Bontiamo’s dairy acquisition plan puts 2027 supply continuity in focus
Cosmo Food EU EditorialFood Affairs reports that Bontiamo has unveiled a new brand and announced the acquisition of the Gavasseto and Roncadella dairy. The operational start is planned for 1 January 2027, alongside the expiry of annual milk contracts. The project envisages continuing Parmigiano Reggiano production and undertaking planned expansion work. That future timetable matters: the announcement is not evidence that the operational transfer has already happened.
Bontiamo is the evolution of Armonie Alimentari, which began in 2014 with Parmonie baked snacks made with Parmigiano Reggiano. The report describes investment in butter-making equipment, a grating and packaging centre opened in 2025, and refreshed products and packs. The assortment covers Parmigiano Reggiano, several butter formats and the original baked snacks; availability for a particular export market still needs confirmation.
Cosmo’s buyer view: buyers planning 2027 cheese or butter programmes should ask who will manufacture, pack and invoice each product during the transition. Confirm specifications, maturation requirements, pack formats, order minimums and delivery schedules for each line. A broader company range does not mean that every format has the same production capacity or export documentation.
The company also announced a milk-quality award for supplying farmers, using annual criteria defined and validated by SGS, with rules due before the end of 2026. This is a proposed supplier-recognition programme, not a substitute for product checks. Buyers should assess current documentation and sample performance independently, then put any agreed changes to supply or packaging into writing.
